Describe the issue

I have the core Roon server set up on my Mac mini.
I have a separate Mac laptop that I want to listen to music on. I open the Roon app on the laptop.
It immediately finds the mini and allows me to connect.

However, on the Audio page it only finds the audio sources from the mini none of the audio sources for the laptop. It seems like the laptop thinks it is the mini or something.

In the screenshot below you can see that "This Mac" only shows "System Output" and "Mac Mini Speakers" - regardless of which one I pick audio only comes out of the Mac mini speakers.

Describe your network setup

My Mac mini is the Core. It's connected directly to my router.
My router has port 55000 open.
My laptop is also connected directly to the router.

Hi @Alon_Motro,

Thanks so much for writing in and for sharing your report! Sorry to hear about your audio zone issues coming from your Mac running Roon remote.

As a first step in troubleshooting, did you by chance use TimeMachine or a third-party backup software to restore your machine settings from your Mac mini onto the Mac running Roon remote?

Can you please also navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network , and make sure Roon is allowed. If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

We’ll be on standby for your reply, thank you!

Thank you, that fixed it !
