Latest version has dropped all audio end points (again)

I’ve just been prompted to update my client and server software.

Following update, all audio end points apart from the server (Mac Mini) have disappeared. Again. This happened with the last update too. Last time, removing Roon completely and re-installing resolved the problem.

This time, a full re-install has not managed to resolve the problem, and all my streaming devices seem to be invisible to Roon.

Roon is installed on a Mac Mini, with wired connection to the house router. Some endpoints are also wired, others are wifi. No changes have been made to the network config, all that’s happened is that following an upgrade of Roon, all the devices are no longer accessible.

I’ve had this happen to me on and off over the last number of months too. I haven’t updated as of yet to latest version. It’s a pain having to re-add the endpoints, reset icons for endpoints, and then losing my queue is the most frustrating part of it all.

Roon is installed on an Intel NUC running Ubuntu.

On MacOs this is a known issue. You do not need to reinstall Roon and/or endpoints. Simply go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and toggle Roon permissions off and on again. All should start working once again.

My Mac Mini still does this periodically, but the endpoints always come back if I quit Roon Server and re-start it. I’ve added a daily restart at 5am on the Mac Mini so that any Roon updates that happened in the night don’t scare away my endpoints.

I’ve toggled the Local Network settings multiple times, but the issue still seems to return with new updates.

Hi,

The Local Network settings toggle has worked for me.

Many thanks for the help.

This is going on to long at this stage must be over a year
 I had a few days off and I took everything apart uninstalled every roon remote and core done a fresh Mac OS put remotes & core back & still the same
So don’t waste your time and follow steps below the only way to get it working.

Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network and toggle Roon permissions off and on again
