Let Roon Remote on Android use the Roon ARC USB driver

Roon ARC on Android can (at least on some devices) send full-resolution data to a USB DAC. I understand that Roon Labs developed a USB driver to make that possible.

Yet Roon Remote for Android itself can’t do that, or if it will, I can’t find how.

My request is to add the USB driver code into Roon Remote for Android so that when at home, one can run Roon and get full resolution, rather than be forced to use ARC, which has a jarringly different interface.

My phone does. Maybe I’m not understanding whay your issie is. You just go to settings in Roon Audio setup in the Roon Android App (not Roon Arc) and choose your phone. When I plug in a dac to my phone, a pop up appears asking if Roon can access my DAC. Works fine for me.

I’m curious what phone you are using, as mine doesn’t work that way. (I wish it did.)

I get the popup, but the only two apps listed are Roon ARC and USB Audio Player PRO. Roon itself isn’t listed, and when I play music through Roon with an HD USB DAC connected, it is downsampled. When I play the same music through Roon ARC, it is sent to the DAC bit perfect, with no changes.

I am also having this conundrum now. I have a tablet with Roon Remote app and ARC. I connect a Fiio KA13 to it. While ARC works as expected and properly uses the DAC, Roon Remote only shows the internal tablet audio output, no KA13 DAC connected via USB. I prefer using the Roon Remote app on the tablet since it seems better optimised for the tablet screen. ARC layout has a lot of dead, empty space on the tablet. Can we either get ARC USB driver integrated into Roon Remote or improved ARC tablet interface?
