· I have an LG OLED C5 tv with built in chromecast and AirPlay support. I cannot display the now playing page and it’s not discoverable on Roon. Can this be fixed? I found a workaround using the TV’s browser, but I don’t like having to manually do that.

Diagnostics indicate that Roon Server has sight of this OLED device. I assume it’s not populating at all in Roon Settings → Audio?

Is the TV connected to the same mesh node as the laptop hosting Roon Server?

The C5 TV shows up in the audio section as a selection. But I am using my Magnetar UDP900 mk2 as a Roon end point. I’m trying to use the C5 only as a display for the now playing page. The C5 does not show up as a display option when you click on the volume button. However, there is a workaround to use the TV’s web browser using the Roon IP address. But I do not want to do that every time I turn on my TV. I just want to be able to turn my TV on and select it as a display on the Roon app. Does that make sense?

That makes sense, and you have described it precisely.

What you are after is Roon’s display feature rather than an audio zone, and the two are separate things. Your C5 appears under Settings and then Audio because Roon can send sound to it over Chromecast or AirPlay. Showing the Now Playing screen needs something different: Roon has to be able to draw that screen on the device itself, and C5 Chromecast and AirPlay do not provide a way to do that. So the TV missing from the list under the volume icon is expected, and it is not a fault with your TV, your Magnetar or your network.

The browser method you found is currently the way to get the Now Playing screen onto a TV like yours.

This is being worked on and support for it should come in a future release. We cannot tell you which release or when, so please keep an eye on the release notes rather than waiting on us to tell you.

Thanks for confirming this is not capable on the C5. This was driving me crazy! I look forward to this being fixed in future software updates. Huge fan of Roon, but this lack of functionality with the C5 is a buzzkill. Cheers.
