Limiting roon access to streaming services only

Would it be possible to have a button to limit roon’s access to my streaming service (Qobuz), please?

If you’re trying to disable local-file playback, go to Preferences (gear icon)>Storage>Three dot menu next to your storage location>Disable. That will hide all of the files in that storage location.

Yeah, someone else suggested that but because I have files on multiple drives, it’s a real faff to switch them all out, then back in again.
I’d like one button to rule all!
Edit: the reason I want to switch off local files is that when I have roon radio on, I want music that I might not have heard before. I’m familiar with my own library and I want to be led down that rabbit hole and discover new sounds.

Maybe this should be the topic of the feature request?

It seems like the simplest way to get what you want is to get a big hard drive and move all your music files to that. It’s a fairly cheap solution, even with a large library. Makes backup simpler, too.

Would disabling your local collection actually accomplish the goal? You could just get the streaming version of a song you disconnected.

That may be desirable as a lot of my old files are low bit rate. The crux is though that I want to listen to new music and not stuff I already own.

Please read the first post in this thread, the topic of which is feature suggestions.

I was replying to your second post, and the reason for this suggestion.

So, maybe the feature request shouldn’t be a switch in Storage, but an option for Radio. In future, ask for clarification rather than making assumptions.

Not at all, but it’s your request, and it’s success is ultimately down to community interest and votes.
