Describe the issue

Internet links in my iPad app are not working. For example, there is a link under Settings->About in the Roon Server section near the top to “Read change log” which links to the Software Release notes on the Roon website. When I click on this I get no response. There are other examples like this and they don’t work either. I don’t recall seeing a similar problem when using other apps on my iPad.

Hi @Stephen_Graham,

Thanks for writing in! Our team was able to load links successfully on our end - if you reboot your iPad, does the same issue persist?

If you remove Roon and redownload the mobile app, do you still run into the same issue?

We’ll be on standby for your reply!

I tried both but it’s still not working.

Hi @Stephen_Graham,

Thanks for giving that a try - do you see any errors when you attempt to access a hyperlink? What happens specifically?

With that, are there any links that do work properly? For instance, the link to community or our help center?

Are you able to test out using a different web browser on the issue iPad? It may also be worth stopping Roon Server and rebooting your server machine.

We’ll be on standby for your reply!

There’s no response at all, as if I were selecting plain text. I’ve tried all the other links on that page and none of them work. I use Firefox but I changed my default browser to Microsoft Edge and Chrome but it didn’t work with those browsers either. I also rebooted the server machine. Still no joy.

Hi @Stephen_Graham,

Thanks for giving that a try! Our team will be taking a closer look into your case - in the meantime, could you also please test out the native web browser Safari? Rebooting your router may be helpful as well.

We’ll follow up with additional information as soon as possible!

I think I figured out the problem. I don’t use Safari so it wasn’t visible on my iPad. When I attempted to download it I got a message saying something to the effect of restrictions need to be turned off to load Safari onto my iPad. I had to look that up and apparently it refers to Content and Privacy Restrictions which is found in Settings->Screen Time->Content & Privacy Restrictions. I had this activated. I don’t remember if i did this on purpose. Anyway, I deactivated it. There are many sub-categories under this option and i have no idea which of them was causing my issue but once i deactivated it I was able to load Safari and when I tested the link in Roon it worked. Then I set Firefox as my default browser and tested the link in Roon again and it worked with Firefox as well. So clearly the issue is related to Content & Privacy Restrictions being activated on my iPad.
