Linn Akurate DSM/3 not showing as Roon Ready (ref#SP4K6T)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I have various end points, including a blue OS node, playback designs MPD6, and a Linn Akurate DSM/3. All of these are Roon ready, but for one reason or another, the Linn is not showing as Roon Ready. It shows as Roon tested but I’d rather not use AirPlay. I use Qobuz and it plays through the Linn App but Doesn't work through Roon. This Issue is new for me. I think it has something to do with the RAAT Because when I Restart Roon and reset the Linn I can get it to work for a while and then something goes wrong. I don’t think it’s the switch as nothing has changed in my system and all the other endpoints seem to work just fine. I use an ethernet connection so there is no Wi-Fi involved. My server is a Roon nucleus.

Tell us about your home network

· I have Cox internet, 1Gb. The modem is a netgear cm2000 and goes into a Luxul Epic 5 router. The Main switch is managed, a Luxul AMS2624p that is distributed throughout the house directly to each room. The Linn and Nucleus are in my office and both the nucleus and the Linn are on an unmanaged switch, a TP Link 8 port gigabit, TL-5G108PE. I do not have a vpn in this path.

(just another Linn user) Which Linn firmware version are you using? The latest is 4.116.588, which updates to the latest Roon SDK. It works well for me (two Klimax, one Series 3).

Hello @Julio_Badin,

Welcome to the community! It’s frustrating when a high-end endpoint like the Linn Akurate DSM/3 doesn’t behave, especially when your other devices are working fine.

As another user pointed out, the firmware version on your Linn is the first thing we should verify. Linn recently released updates that specifically update the Roon SDK to ensure compatibility with the latest Roon builds.

Please try these steps to get the Linn identified correctly:

  1. Check Firmware: Open your Linn Manage Systems page or the Linn App and ensure your Akurate DSM/3 is running the latest available firmware.
  2. Network Segment: Double-check that the Linn and the Nucleus are still receiving IP addresses in the same range (e.g., both starting with 192.168.1.x). Sometimes after a firmware update or a reboot, a device can “jump” to a different subnet if your Luxul managed switch has VLANs configured.
  3. Refresh the Connection: After ensuring the firmware is up to date, please reboot your Roon Nucleus. This forces a fresh scan of the network for RAAT (Roon Ready) devices.

Once you’ve done this, we will pull a fresh diagnostic report from your Nucleus. This will allow us to see exactly how the Linn is identifying itself to Roon.
Managed switches can sometimes interfere with Roon’s discovery protocols (IGMP Snooping/Multicast). Since you mentioned this issue is new, it’s less likely to be the switch, but a firmware update on the Linn might require a quick “refresh” of the switch’s routing table.

Please let us know your current Linn firmware version and if the Roon Ready icon reappears after the Nucleus reboot!

Hi @Julio_Badin,

We haven’t seen a response here, and our diagnostic servers don’t show any Linn Akurate recently associated with your Roon Server instance.

Can you please confirm whether or not you’re still encountering this problem after trying the steps @vadim has shared above?

This thread will auto-close without any further response. Let us know how we can still assist. Thank you!
