Describe the issue

LINN Selekt DSM (2024 variant) Roon Ready - Not showing up

Describe your network setup

Hi end Netgear Orbi

Did you activate this setup:

Torben

Yes, thanks. Those are set - Just not seeing LINN as an output option in Roon, as I used to with Lumin. Gotta be user error… but I’m baffled. Thanks in advance for any other suggestions.

I should add more on the step up -
Roon server running on iMac Pro with external drive of music.
Linn is set up for both ethernet and Wifi - confirmed wifi config.

Hi Ricard. Without this activated you will have no Roon Ready

Torben

Both of those are set, yes.

Hey @Richard_Kerris,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your report, welcome to the Roon Community as well! We’re excited to have you here.

With the recent Mac Sequoia update, we’ve seen a handful of coreaudio/ audio handoff issues related to the update, which have resulted in devices failing to appear in Roon. As a next step, can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network , and make sure Roon is allowed. If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

We’re hoping that the next Sequoia update - set to release this week (15.4) may help with this issue.

We’ll be on standby for your results! :raised_hands:

It was selected and I toggled and rebooted. Same. Roon does not see the LINN

Uncheck “Disable IGMP Proxying” in the main Netgear Orbi router settings.

Disable Mac firewall.

Reboot everything.

Hi @Richard_Kerris ,

If you navigate to Roon Settings → Setup → (bottom) → Subnet for Linn streaming, is this set correctly? I know you said you have Roon Ready for this variant, but if the subnet option is set correctly, it should show in Linn streaming mode while we troubleshoot the Roon Ready connection. Has anything change networking-wise from when it was working vs now?

Sees the IP address, of which there are two. Tried both and the suggestions above… Still not seeing it.

Weird, cause it saw the Lumin just fine.

Hey @Richard_Kerris,

Would you be able to temporarily disable one of your subnets? This should force all your devices onto the same subnet and may help Roon see your DSM.

In other news, we did see Mac release a new Sequoia update - 15.4 that might also help with device discovery.

Let me know if either end up helping! :+1:

Will try that. Running 15.4

Hi @Richard_Kerris ,

Thanks for letting us know. Do keep us updated if disabling the other IP helps, as well as if the other Linn connection method (via Linn subnet) is working.

@Richard_Kerris - it’s not clear to me what you mean when you write that there are two IP addresses. Do you intentionally have multiple subnets defined? Or perhaps vlans?

The pull down has two, not clear why. I have not set up a separate one.

The wifi is a netgear Orbi. - wifi Mesh - but that shouldn’t be an issue, right?

Hi @Richard_Kerris ,

Can you share a screenshot of this aspect? If you try to temporarily switch the Roon Server to a different PC by going to Roon Settings → General → Disconnect and then use the other PC, do you also notice the Linn missing there? Have you had a chance to try a factory reset on the Linn?

Sorry for the delay… was traveling. Back now and will try these things.
Music server is running on Mac
Will try a different one and see.
Screen shots coming
Thx again

Hi @Richard_Kerris,
Great—thanks for the update. We’ll be on the lookout for your response and are here if you need any further assistance!

Getting closer…
Changed the Roon Server and it worked!

Next will try a reinstall of the original server setup
