Linux or Windows Codecs

So i copy thecffmpegfile to nuc?

NOT the readme.txt but the file called ffmpeg third down on the list.

I do not see the Nuc on the network ?

Yes
Understood…not seeing Nuc on network

These instructions:

Where can I go to find this directory?

Accessing Roon OS’s Data Directory

With ROCK running on your network, you can access Roon OS’s /Data directory like any other SMB share.

  1. Windows - In Windows Explorer, type \\ROCK\

So type \\ROCK\ in the file explorer address bar.

i get this screen

That’s NOT a screenshot quite sorry

sorry

It’s a Samba share you’re trying to reach so use File Explorer, NOT Internet Explorer. Sorry I don’t have a Windows box to hand.

Using file explorer does not reflect Nuc in network

it seems that i have to install samba on my pc to access nuc is this correct?

There’s no need to install it I believe (though my Windows smarts aren’t). These instructions may help:

Thanks for taking time with me…

Well i tried and failed
the screen shots in the article are not exactly the same. Quite frankly its beyond my reach
is there another way to get the file on the Nuc??

Sound like you should enlist the help of a geeky friend who for a few beers might get this sorted for
you.

It seems strange that there is not an easier solution to this issue. I Suppose that i can bring the nuc and the ffpmeg file to a repair shop to do this but then do i need to be on my network to capture the ip address?
