I have just installed Roon on Linux, not the essiest install, but it is now working.
To be honest, i only managed it by asking for help on the forum (and receiving it very quickly from some great people).
So my advice would be post on here asking for help and im sure that it will be forthcoming; i would volunteer but it might not be enough (i had a lot of help!).
How many different Desktop environments are there in Linux? How would it be possible to support a bunch of different environments on a bunch of different distros with any sort of consistency? The only way to do it would be to support one LTS distribution or a custom OS with a graphical interface.

I don’t think the DE is an issue since native GNOME apps work well with the alternatives, and vice versa. But, supporting a specific LTS (not rolling releases) is likely the way to go, and this could be Ubuntu since it, with the derivatives, it is most popular.
This would provide the basis for community packaged Snaps or Flatpaks* to cover other distros.
An app image is another posibility. Another option is for Roon to prepare a Snap (or Flatpak) of Roon on Linux (similar to foobar2000.)
But, even though desktop Linux use is generally increasing – 5% in US, 15% in India – that’s probably insufficient motivation to offer a native Linux app.
as staying with Windows becomes harder with every major update, more and more people are willing to switch to Linux. The only thing keeping me with Windows ATM is the Roon GUI. Is there any chance that you will release a full GUI for Roon under Linux?
I think this would be a major step forward and a great improvement. Installing Roon with Wine is “theoretically” a possibility but it’s not comparable with a full stable, native client.
This here is the user discussion category, Roon Software Discussion, and not monitored by Roon staff. See the many existing posts with the same question in Feedback and Feedback > Feature Suggestions. Though they are not commenting on that either (or on any plans, usually)
Would have been better to search and vote for existing requests. Many similar requests only serve to dilute the votes.
I think this is the one with the most votes:
I’ve merged it into the existing Feedback > Feature Suggestions topic, if you are interested consider voting for it (via the icon at the to of this topic).
