Issues resolved in (Build 763) update:
Removed:
We are going to do something to walk this change back and restore the functionality.
We have not made a final decision on what it will look like exactly, but we’ve read this thread and considered the use cases discussed here and they will be taken into account when designing it.
It shouldn’t take a very long time. 1.8 has been launched barely three days–we are just recovering from launch aftermath. It takes the community a couple of days to identify the high-profile stuff and get us the infor…
Appreciate all the feedback we’ve heard on this, everyone.
Most Roon users don’t use tags and we’d like to fix that, but it’s clear the people who do use tags really need a fully-featured tool with the ability to add + remove in bulk.
We hear you. We’re going to restore the previous functionality here, along with the ability to display track tags on the album screen.
Thanks all!
Throughout 1.8, we have made an effort to put lists of albums in the right order so the best stuff is first–the idea is, we don’t need this extra element in the interface to do something that is already captured in the sort order.
In any case, due to popular demand, we are planning to bring this back as an option.
It wasn’t intended to work this way.
You should be able to choose shuffle and get a random selection of music from your library, not just the beginning of the alphabet (or whatever your current sort mode is).
Thanks for flagging this everyone – we appreciate the feedback and we’re working on a fix. It should be in the next release.
Yup, this is a bug
It should be fixed in our next release, thanks for the feedback here @KML !
I don’t think that 5000 tracks shuffle issue was resolved. It’s still 5000. And now from any screen, even from tags and genres.

Thanks for the feedback, @Oliver_Stettner — I’ve passed this along to the team to look into further.
@Alexander_Bashlaev Thanks.
From what I’ve read the main issue has been resolved: the shuffle is now random and not just the first 5k tracks of the active sort.
If Roon responds with actionable feedback to the other concerns I’ll happily add it to the list.

andybob:
It’s pretty simple everyone. Before posting in this thread, ask yourself the following question:
Does my post link a new response by a Roon staff member to a 1.8 issue ?
If yes, post away.
If not, don’t post here. Your post will be deleted.
Repeating from upthread for visibility.

Apologies for the trouble, @Hazen !
We are aware of the issue here and are working to resolve it. Things should be working for you soon!
Tracks>Focus>Import Date>Not working as expected:
We’re still working on Focus, so the latest changes haven’t gone live yet, but we’ll have a look.
@RoonQA please have a look – some of this is fixed, but I’m still seeing the Import Date heat map issues when comparing Albums vs Tracks.
Thanks for letting us know @Hazen !

Thanks, Nicholas.
I’ll just hold off adding it to the list until support have confirmed they are working to resolve the issue.

Hey @SeanB ,
Thanks so much for taking the time to report this. And @Rory_Sharp as well.
This is something we’re looking into. While I cannot make any guarantees on if and when this will be changed, we do appreciate you sharing that having a better way to search for longer titles would help.
Thanks

Missing composer information in the notable compositions. A fix has been confirmed
Yeah, it’s implied on the composer page but we should definitely be showing the composer’s name when it’s not part of the context.
We’ll get that fixed, thanks!

Roon suffers from a memory leak: over the course of days and weeks, Roon’s memory usage continues to increase further and further. The Roon Team is aware of this issue and confirmed an investigation.
Hi @Alfred_van_Hoorn
I just wanted to let you know that this is something we are looking into. We appreciate the feedback, and we’ll be sure to update everyone when we have more information!

Thanks Alfred.
I did see that response from Roon, but I’m not going to add it to the list as the reports of memory leaks are not specific to 1.8 (as you know they have also been investigated by Roon in 1.7).
Also, while obviously a problem for the users experiencing the issue, it doesn’t seem to be effecting all users of a specific Core configuration that have a report.
Hope that makes sense, but your post itself helps highlight the issue, and I would suggest any other users effected by this issue join your topic to provide Roon with detailed information on their specfic setups, or start their own support topic.
