Live DJ as a live radio station how to?

Hello!

I am having a party at home soon. A friend is a DJ and will do a couple of sessions. I would like to “feed” that as a live radio in Roon so I can “stream” the dj music to my roon zones.

If a local server stream the dj audio, can I add the stream to my live radio in roon? Anyone tried something like that before?

I imagine one possible solution is to set up a streaming server on your LAN send the DJ feed to that and then use the IP address as a Station URL in Roon Live Radio. I’m pretty sure that there would be sync issues between the actual live DJ and the stream due to network latencies, stream encoding etc. Here’s what I found from a cursory search:

Awesome, exactly what I need.

I am aware of the latencies and sync issues, but it’s not a problem with the way my zones are. The place where the DJ will be is pretty much away from my roon zones and this area will be fed directly from the mixing console.

I assume roon live radios require a HTTP protocol stream.

I’ll give it a shot for sure.
