What are the rules/logic/format details regarding whether or not you get song title, artist displayed in the ‘now playing’ display? One of my stations has it, most do not.

The answer to your question is simple: if the station adds the metadata to their stream, we will (almost always) get it. There are a few where we can’t deal properly with the stream, but normally, if we don’t show it, the station isn’t sending it. Not all do.
There’s nothing you can do your end.
