Hello @hwa1959 ,

Thanks for your patience while we investigated this.

We have analyzed your Roon Server logs regarding the playback issues (greyed-out tracks, Live Radio failures), and unfortunately, we have identified a hardware failure. Your internal storage drive (Samsung 870 EVO 4TB) is failing and requires urgent replacement.

Diagnostic Findings:

  • Critical Hardware Errors: The SMART diagnostic test returned over 24,000 "Reported Uncorrectable Errors."Additionally, the drive has developed bad sectors (Reallocated Sector Count: 165) that it can no longer repair.
  • Log Confirmation: The logs are full of Input/output error messages, confirming that the drive physically fails to read data when Roon attempts to play music or access the database.
How this affects your system:

This failure is the direct cause of the symptoms you are experiencing. When Roon hits a bad sector, it fails to read the file and marks the track as “Corrupt” or unavailable (greyed out). This also causes the Core to hang or fail to update metadata.

Recommendations:

The drive has logged over 36,000 power-on hours (~4 years) and has reached the end of its lifespan.

  1. Backup Immediately: Please attempt to create a Roon Database Backup right now to ensure you don't lose your play history and settings, if the system still allows it.
  2. Replace the SSD: You will need to replace the drive with a new one of similar or larger capacity as soon as possible.
Please let us know if you need any advice on selecting a replacement drive.

Thanks.
