Description of Issue

Roon Remote (both on Mac Ventura and iOS 16) sees no local audio devices.

I’ve read other topics that have the same problem and tried the following:

  1. Reinstalling the app (on Mac)
  2. Recreation of RAAT_Server on the core

On the Mac I noticed that one time the local devices were shown. Shortly after that they disappeared again. So unfortunately this doesn’t help.

I like to hear music with Roon from the office. By connecting via VPN on the Mac that would be ok for me. ARC is not a alternative as it is not possible to be used on my Mac (where the headphones are connected to).

Roon don’t support remotes over VPN.

However as long as you forward all the ports needed - it can work over a L2TP vpn.

My guess is that if endpoint discovery isn’t working - you need to add the discovery port forwarding to your vpn setup.

You should be able to find the details on the tinkering forum.
