Local files in the album

Hello community,

How can I get Roon to go to settings… storage locations where I have added a folder to monitor, so that these files from the added folder “DO NOT” end up in my music library… “album”???

The folders should only stay in my music library (folder) and if I want to play something from it, I play from my music library “folder”.

Now everything is in my music library “albums”, only albums from Tidal and Qobuz and that’s how I want it.

I have deleted the monitored folder from storage locations again and am doing without local music files for now.

I have already looked so much on the internet and found nothing.

Thanks to everyone who can help.

You can hide those albums:

PS: And you can find them using Focus on storage location.

Disclaimer: IDK if Roon shows folders without (visible) albums in it. I leave it to people with a use case for this to test and report if it works/does what they want.

I did: Hide Album!!!

The local files are still in the Album folder.

Why should they still show when hidden? Did you change the default setting of not showing hidden albums? If so, then change it back.

How ever, what you ask for sounds to me like going against what Roon is about and that may be why you have a hard time doing what you want to do. You should create a Feature Suggestions if you want Roon to potentially change in the future.

Instead of hiding you can use focus. Either minus focus your local storage locations or plus focus your streaming storage locations. You can then bookmark that filter to make access more convenient.

Hi @BlackJack & @Tony,

Thanks again for your help. BlackJack was right. The slider in the settings was enabled.

Thanks Tony…it works perfectly. I just hid a folder with 700 titles
