Login issue with Nucleus One due to old Mac-Mini's Roon session (ref#BAPLP6)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· Just bought nucleus one though cannot login because my old mac-mini is (apparently) still logged in, and... unauthorosisation does not work.

I cannot launch Roon on my Mac-mini any longer because the mac-mini is old and runs on MacOS 10.x. Since a few weeks the app won't launch on MacOS 10.x and that was why I bought the Nucleus One

I don’t know why unauthorizing has not worked for you.

You should be able to just click on “Unauthorize”. This should disassociate your subscription from the (non-working) Roon Server installation on the Mac Mini and allow you to proceed with the login process on the Nucleus One.

What do you see when you do click on the “Unauthorize” button?

Thanks for responding, the unauthorize button is just not “active”. Meanwhile I tried different things and I found an old installation file of Roon and re-installed that version which still works on MacOS 10.x. From that version I made a back-up and reinstalled the back-up on the Nucleus and now it works…

That is an incredibly clever workaround!

The “Unauthorize” button was greyed out because macOS 10.x uses outdated security frameworks, preventing the Roon app from successfully connecting to our cloud licensing servers to release the lock.

By restoring a backup from the previous version directly onto your new Nucleus One, you seamlessly cloned your core’s authorized identity and bypassed the cloud block entirely—all while keeping your playlists and history intact.

Since you are fully up and running on your new hardware, I will go ahead and mark this thread as solved. Enjoy the speed and stability of your new Nucleus One!
