Describe the issue

I have tried to Log in to Roon and each time I'm brought to the Roon login page but the login times out. I have a Mac and upgraded to Tahoe recently. For the past 8 years I've had only minor problems, but with this upgrade I can't get access to Roon and the few times I have succeeded after multiple re downloads, then I can log in to Tidal or Qobuz as the same spinning circle time out occurs. I have made sure all the ad blockers are off and all firewalls shut down. I've tried Safari and Firefox with the same result. I've rebooted my router and even changed the DNS to 1.1.1.1. When I go onto a friend's laptop running Ventura and using my network there is no problem so I don't think its a network problem. Interestingly I'm struggling to open the actual Roon websites like your homepage on the Tahoe device but not on the Ventura device. right now I have a very expensive music system that is going to waste because Roon is not playing with Tahoe. I really hope you can solve it, but if not, I'm done with Roon.

Describe your network setup

Verizon if my ISP. Router is FIOS and I"m hardwired to my desktop with an ethernet cable

Hello @Christopher_La_Mendo ,

Thanks for reaching out!

Do you by any chance have multiple networking interfaces active (both WiFi/Ethernet)? Is there any change in behavior if you try to disable all but one interface?

Are you making use of any VPNs, adblockers, hardware blockers? Is the issue the same with these disabled/bypassed if so?

Hi @Christopher_La_Mendo,

Are you still encountering this issue? Cloudflare had another service incident today (12/5) affecting major internet infrastructure.

Please try two things:

First, navigate to System Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network and grant Roon local network access.

Next, try disabling content blockers (adblockers) and clearing cookies in your default browser. This should ensure the browser re-direct from the login URL isn’t intercepted before Roon can reopen.

We’ll watch for your reply.

I’ve done all that multiple times and have used Chrome, Safari and Firefox so I don’t think its related to a specific browser. I’ve gone into the Mac and turned down or off virtually all security settings. I don’t think its the network, because I got Roon going easily with no problems on an old Mac Pro running Ventura and it never had a problem on my desktop running the last Mac OS.

Express VPN is off, but I’ve used it for years without problems. I did try with Wifi off but not with Ethernet disconnected. Ill try that and let you know.

I was actually able to solve the problem by disconnecting an ethernet cable from a splitter and plugging in directly to the router. Still not sure why it worked right up to the day I installed Tahoe and not afterwards, but it worked.

Hello @Christopher_La_Mendo,

Thank you for the follow-up — we’re glad to hear that connecting your Mac directly to the router resolved the login issue. macOS Tahoe appears to be more strict with network interface handling, so removing the splitter likely eliminated the conflicting path that was interrupting the login flow.

Since everything is now working as expected, we’ll consider this case resolved.
If the issue returns or you notice any new behavior, just let us know — we’re here to help.

Happy listening!
