Can you share the model and specification of your NAS running your Core plus details of your network.

QNAP TS-451DeU 16GB, roon on SSD
Network is 10GB Ethernet

the pauses only occur when a track is played for a little longer → when it gets into the history
and the profilestats are calulated (?)

is it normal to have so many log-entries for profilestats? i only have 1 profile
i have >10000 plays in history

I understand this NAS has the Celeron J4025 processor. This has insufficient performance for running Roon, which may explain the problems you are experiencing.

Nonetheless, I do not see these repeated lines in my logs and when I do this activity is completed quickly by comparison.

I think this may be pointing to a network issue, but @support will be better placed to assist you. Therefore, to avoid delay, it would be really helpful if you provided the following information about your Roon setup.

Describe The Issue

When you start a thread in the #support category, Roon Support will need to know:

  • What’s not working
  • How often the issue occurs

This could be “every time I start the app”, or “every time I click a certain button”,etc.

If you’re having a crash or an issue that happens sporadically, it’s helpful if you can let us know an approximate time for when it last happened.

  • Details on your Core machine (OS, Hardware specs, Roon build)

  • Library details (where your music is stored, whether you’re using a streaming service, how many tracks are in your library)

Describe The Issue

everything is superfast, except:

when playing a track more than 15% (-> when it gets into history) a long pause beween the next track occurs.
the histogram bar flashes in the pause

when playing a track very short → everything works fine

a restart of the server makes it a little bit better

the whole setup is migrated several times since 2018

→ maybe its possible to do a statics-reorg or a database rebuild?

Are you still seeing this on the latest version of Roon? We had a few reports like this that have since reported that things are working as expected. Please let me know if you’re seeing otherwise!

Update - This was resolved by upgrading to an i7 ROCK Core.
