Lose Storage Location when making wired connections

Roon Core Machine

I’m almost certain this problem has an easy solution - but I’m just not seeing it… Very stable Roon playback w/ wireless connection b/t Naim device and router. BUT, when I change the connection to an ethernet cable, Roon can no longer locate the storage folder. Do I need to add a new folder location or network share? I’m just missing something here…?

Sounds like your wireless and wired network might be on different subnets. So yes you might need to add it as a new share. Where is the folder on another device than your core?

Or edit the location of the currnt share to the new address.

The folder is on an SSD that is connected to my Naim Uniti Star via USB. But I don’t understand how to locate or configure the address of this new ethernet connection… It should be simple - but it’s not to me…

Hey @JHawk,

Ben with the support team here. Both @Simon_Arnold3 and @Rugby are steering you in the right direction here with next steps.

Are you still running into issues getting your storage folder shared path setup correctly?

This is because it is being assigned a different ip address when wired and you will need to edit the existing storage folder to point to the new ip address that’s been given to the Star. Please show a screen grab of you current watched folder location and the ip address of the Naim Unifi Star. You can get this from your router or the Naim app. Also show us what ipaddress the Roon core has.
