When switching Roon Servers, you have to create a backup and restore that backup to the new server to transfer over information such as favorites/local playlists/edits. Please follow the guide that @Carl linked and let us know if you have any issues after, thank you!
Hi @noris, I followed the steps in that guide originally. When I connect to my original Roon on NAS (Synology) my favorites are still there, but they aren’t showing up in the Roon on Nucleus One.
Note: after the restore step on the Nucleus one it says it can’t find the music using the existing folder restored from the backup though, even though the music files on the NAS have not moved. On the Nucleus I have to add a new source to import the music files.
This is how the files are specified to the Roon on the NAS.
Are you able to click the three dots to the right of this existing watched folder path > edit > browse > then select the new network share to the NAS.
Feel free to share a screenshot of when you give this a try. We’ll enable diagnostics on your Nucleus in the meantime - we’ll be able to review any failures more closely once you reproduce this.
Thanks Benjamin and Noris and Carl. I repeated the steps in the Guide you linked and edited the bad connection and I am seeing History and Favorites now. The blurb under USB devices applied in this case even though the location is on a NAS:
“If you’re using the same USB storage as your previous setup, you may need to update the path. Make sure that you edit the existing path if needed. Adding a new storage configuration without removing the old configuration can cause file identification issues.”
