I had an iMac with a Western Digital 6TB external Hard drive as my Roon Core. I bought a Nucleus + and followed the set-up instructions to make it my new core. I connected the WD HD and all my music was imported onto the SSD of the Nucleus+. I left the WD connected to the Nucleus+ to use as a back up disk. It’s all working great but the 275 song playlist that I created on the iMac/WD core is now gone. I brought the WD back to the iMac and can open it up and see all my music files, but if I search the name of the playlist, I get no results. Is the playlist gone forever or can I make the iMac a new temporary Core and recover the playlist? Thanks.
You can try making the Mac a temporary core and see if the playlist is there.
Did you restore the DB backup during the transition? It should have brought your playlist with it.
Ok, thank you. I just de-authorized my Nucleus+ and made my iMac the Core again. I brought the WD 6TB HD from the Nucleus + back to the iMac and the 2 playlists were there! So now I’m backing up the database. Once I’m backed up, I should de-authorize the iMac and then not authorize the Nucleus+, but rather restore from the previous backup? Or authorize and choose restore backup? Thanks again.
It worked perfectly and I didn’t lose the new music I put on the Nucleus+. Thank you so very much! You saved me hours and hours trying to recreate my playlists. Cheers!
