Lost Roon tags and playlists when updating audio server when Roon core is located

I made an update for a new version on my Linux audio server where Roon core is located and lost all tags and playlists made.

Is this normal ?
I had no backups made yet.

looking for feedback

thanks
Pedro

I don’t know what kind of update did you do, but it is possible if during an update /var folder was cleaned up. To avoid such issues in future you should backup Roon’s database.

Here is an article how to set up the backup: http://kb.roonlabs.com/Backup#Setting_Up_Backups

Thank you so much for reply.
How much space needed to backup a library ard 2TG ?
Can I back up internally or only with external HDD ?
Can I use Win PC used as Roon remote to backup such database?

many thanks
Pedro

Roon doesn’t do a backup of your music collection, it does a backup of its database which stores all edits you’ve made inside Roon, playlists, playback history etc.

You can store backup anywhere you want, I recommend you to go through the KB article in previous post
