Tell us what's going on

· My LS50 Wireless left channel cuts out after a short while listening through Roon. Previously the volume sometimes maxed out though I had a limit set. Is this a known problem with Roon?

Hi @Donald_Maclean,

Thank you for the post. We’re not able to pinpoint an event matching this description in the available logset.

Can you please take the following steps at your convenience to equip us to proceed with troubleshooting?

  1. Share a screenshot of the Signal Path and Device Setup page (Gear icon in Settings → Audio) for the KEF Zone

  2. Please try to reproduce either the channel dropout issue or the volume issue and let us know the name of the track that was playing

  3. Play the same track to another Zone to verify that the issue is exclusive to the KEF

Thank you!

Hi, Conner, thanks for your response but as is typical generally the fault has corrected itself !! , thankfully.

Regards, Don Maclean

Hello @Donald_Maclean,

Thanks for the update - glad to hear it sorted itself out!

For future reference, in case it returns: symptoms like one channel dropping out and volume jumping past a set limit typically point to the speakers themselves rather than Roon - on the LS50 Wireless, the left speaker receives its signal from the right one over the inter-speaker connection, and hiccups on that link (or in the speaker firmware) produce exactly this behavior. It’s worth checking in the KEF Connect app that your speakers are on the latest firmware, as KEF has addressed issues of this kind in past updates.

If it does happen again, just grab the track name and the time it occurred and open a new thread referencing this one (ref#2K3ACH) - we’ll pick it up from there with fresh logs.

Enjoy the music!
