Lumin D3, Roon and Tidal - Pops and Clicks when skipping to next song

Hi All,

Hope you guys can assist with an issue I am experiencing.
I read through some of the Topics and did some searching as well but could not find a solution specific to mine.

When playing some Playlists from Tidal through Roon and my Lumin D3, I get loud pops and clicks on my speakers which are a bit annoying an not good for my speakers, I would imagine.
I have noticed this when skipping to the next track in the playlist on Tidal and then realized that when the current track is 44.1/16bit (shown in Tidal) and the next track is also 44.1/16bit it does not happen, but when the current track is 44.1/16bit and the next track is 44.1/24bit the pops and clicks appear. It seems valid as soon as the 2 tracks differ in Quality.

All non DSD tracks are up sampled to DSD256 in the D3 settings. How can I overcome / fix this and why is it happening? I would like to keep the up sampling to compare between Native as to what I prefer without the pops and clicks, else why is the option there?
Attached are all my settings.

I use the D3 in pre-amp mode connected via XLR to my NAD C298 and then Speakers. My Internet connection is from D3 via LAN to Router then 1G fiber Link to ISP.

Thanks for your support on this.

Please turn off Lumin re-sampling. Try Roon DSP Engine resampling if necessary.

Thanks Peter for the prompt response. So in short, you cannot have re-sampling enabled on Lumin when using Roon?

Peter is trying to identify the source of the problem, turning off resampling is the first step in the process…

Got it, thanks will try it out.

Thanks Peter, by turning off Lumin re-sampling the pops and clicks disappeared.
Not sure if it was designed this way that the DAC re-sampling does not work together with Roon and if the compatibility between Roon and Lumin are limited to the Sofware DSP of Roon only? Could not find anything in the documentation.
Anyway, for the guys switching to #ROONONLYMODE, keep this in mind to switch off the Lumin re-sampling else you will have to reset again since I first discovered it in that mode, but it is the same for normal functioning as well. Cheers.
