LUMIN U2: USB does not work with McIntosh DA2 DAC after DA2 update

Because of my problems with showing wrong sampling rates at my McIntosh DA2 DAC regarding DSD-Files the German Represent of McIntosh (www.audio-components.de) recommended a software update of the DA2 (from V 5.12 to V 5.12).
My dealer here in Vienna did this, but since the software update the USB port of the McIntosh does not work with the LUMIN U2 at all! There is no sound at all! The cable is ok.
Has anyone here simlar problem with LUMIN and McIntosh? And knows what had happened? Because a software update, that should have fixed a problem should not cause another much bigger problem!
Greetings from Vienna
Robert

I think you need to put this post in a McIntosh Thread/forum as it’s more like someone will have knowledge of the problem. Also the dealer that advised the upgrade might have some answers.

You could, of course, also try reinstalling the software on the McIntosh.

It would be helpful if you advised what are the audio settings in the Lumin app. i,e, digitail out setting, Upsampling off / on, etc., etc.

how do you know which firmware your DA2 DAC in the McIntosh is running? I can check mine, and let you know, which firmware its running. I have a U2 Mini connected, without any issues playing DSD, and all files.

  1. Please power down both Lumin and McIntosh.

  2. Disconnect the USB cable.

  3. Power up both. Wait for the Lumin to show a progress circle on the front panel.

  4. Change the McIntosh to USB input.

  5. Connect the USB cable.

  6. If it still doesn’t work, try different USB ports of Lumin. And try a different USB printer cable.
