Mac login required to access Roon Server (ref#US2TDW)

Is Roon Server running?

Please try to restart your network setup by unplugging, waiting 30 seconds and then replugging in your networking gear.

I can only access my room server on my Mac computer when my Mac computer is logged in with my username. If I have to login every time I want to play Roon it’s kind of pointless from an accessibility standpoint

You are correct - if you are planning to use Roon Server on a Mac, that Mac will need to stay awake and connected to your network. If it falls into sleep mode, it will disconnect and you won’t be able to play music from it.

It’s best to leave your Roon sever on, connected, and logged in 24/7. I have three Roon servers running 24/7 and a forth on my laptop I use when away from home.

Keep in mind this doesn’t mean you can’t put a screensaver/lock screen settings that requires a password with turn display off settings. This works just fine with Roon. Keep the Mac on and use those settings I described above then it won’t seem so pointless.
