Mac Mini 2010 with CDRom installed Roon Optimized Core Kit can't recognize CD-ROM and the external storage

Hi Support Teams,

I was satisfied my Mac Mini 2010 with CD-ROM installed Roon Optimized Core Kit.

It could rip the CD through its CD-ROM directly, and could connect the external SSD drive as a storage.

But those two functions have gone after the Roon server updating to build 1470. This new Roon version let my Mac mini can’t recognize the external storage and the CD-ROM, and of course the original CD-ROM on the Mac mini.

I am pretty sure that it is the new version issue. Because I reinstall ROCK using the download file “roonbox-linuxx64-nuc4-usb-factoryreset.img”, the two functions are back and act normally. But the Roon Server will be asked to update to the newest version. So the two functions are gone again.

Please fix these issue.
Thank you very much.

Best regards
Austin

Hi @alien12342002,

I’ve moved your post over to Tinkering as running ROCK on this hardware isn’t supported and others may be able to provide better insight into this kind of configuration.

Most likely ROCK doesn’t have the necessary drivers. That’s why it is targeted for supported Intel NUC hardware, not random machines. You may be better off running a general-purpose Linux distribution that aims at working on Intel Macs
