Mac Mini late 2012: suddenly Roon plays the first minute of a song and hangs

This will happen with Tidal or local tracks.

Sometimes I can get it to start again (from the start of the track) sometimes I have to wait a while.

It started in the last week. The Mac mini that hosts Roon is wired directly to a McIntosh C47.

I also use 2012 mac mini + roon, and everything is working fine.

Maybe something else going on with the PC or Network

Maybe try a “cold” restart, shut down everything, Network the lot, unplug, brew tea, restart each component in turn , waiting until each bit starts before starting the next …

My weather and electricity supply necessitates I do this daily

Make sure to describe your network configuration/topology, including any networking hardware currently in use, so we can have a clear understanding of how your devices are communicating.

Could you also tell us if this happens when you play to System Output? Please try that out and see if the behavior you were seeing still exists and let us know.
