Mac mini - Running hot and 300% CPU usage?

Core Machine (Operating system/System info/Roon build number)

NUC 7 Intel Core i3 running ROCK

Network Details (Including networking gear model/manufacturer and if on WiFi/Ethernet)

NETGEAR ProSafe GS108 Network Switch - 8 Port, Cat 6e network cabling

Audio Devices (Specify what device you’re using and its connection type - USB/HDMI/etc.)

Raspberry Pi4/Allo Digione to Chord Mojo - Wifi

Mac Mini 2018, Intel Core i5, 8gb RAM acting as a Remote only.
Issue

With the Mac left on standby overnight and Roon re-started the following morning Mini will run hot. When checked Roon is using around 300% CPU, if the Mini is rebooted goes back down to negligible usage and runs cool again.
I have tried resetting the PRAM etc which has the same effect as a reboot. Any thoughts?

Hi @SWC,

Thanks for reaching out.

We are aware of some reports surrounding high CPU usage on MacOS PCs with Roon and we currently have an active investigation into this issue.

How often would you say you experience this behavior? Once a week? More/less?

During our investigation into this issue, we have found that customers can get out of this state by toggling their WiFi on/off (in the MacOS networking settings).

Can you give that a try and let me know if this toggle also applies in your case as well?

Hi,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Frequency is probably once our twice a week. The Mac is connected by ethernet so not sure toggling the wifi will impact but I will give it a try the next time it happens.
