Mac Mini update issues [Solved]

Had to download the new release because I got this message trying to launch the older version installed on my Mac Mini

“Application install post-update failed (1892731). Please install the latest software at http://roonlabs.com/

Downloaded and installed new version - now the app doesn’t seem launch at all - no error messages , no indication the app even launched.

So I have to wait until next week to listen to music???
Wow! I guess I’ll spend that time looking for an alternative to Roon.

Sorry for the snark but come on guys!!

Hey @Robin – sorry for the trouble here. What happens when you try to launch Roon? No error?

It sounds a bit like the permission issues described here:
https://community.roonlabs.com/t/roon-wont-launch-at-all-on-os-x-the-icon-just-bounces-and-stops-whats-happening/325

Why don’t you try the fixes described there and if you’re still stuck, we’ll take a deeper look. Thanks for your patience!

I get the same thing occasionally. You need to force quit Roon and close down everything. Reopen Roon and it should work.

Hey @Robin,

If Mike’s idea won’t work. Would you mind to try this:

  1. Open Terminal
  2. Paste this command: /Applications/Roon.app/Contents/MacOS/Roon
  3. Press Enter

If the app won’t start Terminal should printout error, would you mind to paste it here.

Thanks

/Applications/Roon.app/Contents/MacOS/Roon
-bash: cd/Applications/Roon.app/Contents/MacOS/Roon: No such file or directory
MiniMusique-2080:~ minimusique$

I am running Yosemite 10.10.5 on a 2011 Mac Mini.
It’s a dedicated music server so nothing else is running (except Chrome as this point)

Application install post-update failed (1892731). Please install the latest software at http://roonlabs.com/

ran command again from Terminal got this message

Application install post-update failed (1892731). Please install the latest software at http://roonlabs.com/

Ok got it running - needed to delete old app and reinstall. Saved the Roon folder with db info so it’s all good to go. Apologies for the frantic replies but a house full of people and no music makes for a tough crowd.

Thanks for all the help!
