Mac PRO Microrendu Audio Alchemy no sound

Ive been trying for quite a while now to get sound in Ex Roonready. All seem to be ok but there is no sound. I can se that Roon having Microrendu in “netplayer”

Starting to wonder IF Microrendu USB output is malfunction, its quite cool and this is with Ifi Net adapter 9v.

Anyone have a clue what to check?

If your DAC doesn’t draw power from the USB then it may well run cool even with the 9v. Mines cool to very lukewarm into a Devialet, and I use ifi.

Have you run the microrendu diagnostics to check it can see your DAC okay?

Any more info on the setup would probably help people offer advice.

Here’s my microrendu diagnostic

And Dac have locked the signal, it shows 192. ok
When i put the dac straight into Mac it plays from Roon

That device does not support native DSD. Go to Settings / RoonReady and configure it for DoP and press Save.

Ive tried that too…but i Will check that im done that!
Thanks for reply!

Nope it was already on DoP.
Shouldnt audio advice show Audio Alchemy ?

No…it should say USB.

Repeat the issue and then go to Settings / RoonReady and post the output of RoonReady Diagnostics.

Here we go again…

When i plug My dac into Mac direcly, i can se in settings/audio in Roon that Audio Alchemy dac is connected.

When i plug thru Microrendu theres just System output, and no dac. Its that ok?

Got help from Andrew Gillis:)
Working now! I’m not sure what he did but it was in Roon…I think:)
Happy!

Glad it worked out. Perhaps @agillis could post the details for any future users…

This is the standard troubleshooting I do for Roon and the microRendu/Sonicorbiter SE. And this is what worked here.

  1. update the microRendu/Sonicorbiter SE using the update button the the microRendu/Sonicorbiter SE web GUI

  2. go into the DAC Diagnostics in the microRendu/Sonicorbiter SE web GUI and make sure the DAC is active

  3. go into the Roon configuration and make sure all the settings are correct. I set the volume control to None (100%) unless the customer needs volume control for some reason. Then press submit. Pressing submit rebuilds the Roon config and restarts the RoonReady endpoint. This is important!!

  4. Go into the Roon user interface and make sure the microRendu/Sonicorbiter SE is selected.

  5. play a track and look in the DAC diagnostics screen to make sure the DAC is actaully playing.

That’s about it. This fixes about 50% of problems.

The rest of the problems I run into (not a factor in this case) are usually network related.

  1. bad network cables or ports on a router or switch.

  2. router needs to be rebooted.

  3. Airport Extreme configured as a NAT so it’s isolating the devices connected to it from the rest of the network. (I see this one a lot)

  4. misconfigured wifi access point or secondary router
