MacBook Air misidentified as Mac Studio causing endpoint detection issues (ref#ICQ9N0)

Hi! What’s not quite right with Roon?

· None of the above quite fits

None of the above quite fits

· None of these quite match

Tell us what's going on

· I have several Macs running on my local network with attached endpoints. Roon confuses one of them (a MacBook Air) with the Mac Studio I use for most of my streaming; when I open Roon on the MBA, in Settings --> Audio, "This Mac" shows the devices connected to the Mac Studio and devices I connect to the MBA (DACs) don't show up in the Audio tab on either the Mac Studio or the MBA.

I can see the MBA as an Airport Device in "Other Network Devices."

Tell us about your home network

· I have a Unifi Dream Router. Most of my devices are hardwired, except the MBA which is running on wifi.

Did you use Time Machine to restore an image fro one device to another?

Hello @Phil_Brady ,

Thanks for reaching out. We are aware of a similar behavior when Time Machine / Migration Assistant is used to transfer one Mac over to the other. If this is what has happened here, we have sent advanced troubleshooting instructions to your private message on this forum (green “1” in top right avatar). Let us know if it helps!

I did, which I’m sure didn’t help. Though I also setup a Mac Mini from the same image and haven’t had this issue; maybe I just got lucky!

Thanks, @noris ; I’ll give it a try this afternoon.
