Describe the issue

Hi Roon. I have a big problem that I can't solve. I can no longer connect my macbook to my Roon Server. I think I've tried everything. My iPhone can easily get in touch with my Roon Server, and here I can see that the server has the latest software (2.47 build 1510) and so does my iPhone. My Macbook is updated with the latest operating system Sequoia 15.3.1 I have tried uninstalling Roon on my Macbook and reinstalling, but it still says that it can't get in touch with my Roon Server. Of course, everything has been restarted several times, the IP addresses are correct and they are on the same network. What can I do? I hope you can help because it's hard to do without Roon. Kind regards Henrik Vilmar, Denmark

Describe your network setup

I only have the router from my internet provider. It´s connected to my Roon server via cable (ethernet) I´ve checked the cable and it is OK.

Hello @Henrik_Vilmar ,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the forum! Can you please navigate to macOS System Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network , and make sure Roon is allowed. If it is already enabled, toggle it off and on again. Then reboot your Mac, and see if the same issue persists.

If the above does not work, can you please try a full reinstall of the Roon remote on the Mac? You can use the below instructions to do so.

Let’s try a fresh database and see if your issues persist:

  • Create a Backup of your current database
  • Exit out of Roon + RoonServer if running (from taskbar area)
  • Navigate to your Roon Database Location (on the Mac only, not on the ROCK Data/Server folder)
  • Find the folder that says “Roon Server” and “Roon”
  • Rename the “RoonServer” folder to “RoonServer_old” and “Roon” to “Roon_old”
  • Reinstall the Roon App from our Downloads Page to generate a new Roon folder
  • Verify if the issue persists on a fresh database before restoring the backup
