I looked that thread over. Seems some people are not seeing it when in standby. My problem is when not in standby my router sees the device but Roon does not. I have the current firmware loaded and I have tried a couple different ethernet cables.
Thanks for letting us know. I am looking over your account diagnostics but I don’t see a Magnetar showing up at all from what I can tell. Is the device on the same subnet as the Roon Server? What is the local IP address of the Magetar device?
I have the Mk I. I ordered the MK II but that’s not what was shipped to me. I’ve reached out to Magnetar support. Any way to make the one I have work with Roon?
Ah, I’m sorry to hear that! The Magnetar Mk I is not natively Roon Ready and will not show up in your Roon audio settings via Ethernet like the Mk II would. However, you can still use it as a high-performance external DAC for Roon.
I’d also quickly check the back of your unit. If the USB ports are blue (USB 3.0) and you see a “Roon Ready” logo on the box or chassis, you might actually have a Mk II that just needs a firmware update to V985 or higher. If the ports are black and there’s no logo, it’s definitely a Mk I.
I was going to try that. I connected a usb cable to it but I couldn’t get it to appear in Roon. I didn’t spend a lot of time on it though and I suppose there are some settings I need to tweak.
I’ve tried both USB ports on the UDP800 with no luck. When plugged into the USB port on the front there is an icon pops up on the UDP screen that says “not Support.” I can’t find any setting in the 800 concerning the USB ports. I have an iFi Nano dac that appears as soon as I plug it in to the same port on my Mac. Any ideas?
I just received an email from Magnetar saying I can return the unit because it was removed from certification after it was shipped. Thanks for your help.
