I often add an album to my library via Qobuz. I then listen to the album and “heart” my favourite songs, which in turn informs certain bookmarks I set. Now, quite often, when I really like the album, I buy it on CD. I then rip the CD directly to Roon and it appears as an alternative and secondary version of the album already added via Qobuz.
That is all fine, but what I would like Roon to understand is that, when I rip a CD, I want that version to be the primary version automatically. The main reason for this is that in ARC, you can only download an album when you have it on your hard drive, so if Roon would do what I’m asking, downloading would be a few clicks less.
Also, I would love for roon to transfer the hearted favourites from the Qobuz version to the ripped CD. I understand that in some cases, you may like a song in one version, but not in another, but more often than not, you will like it the same in each.
Ideally, I would like Roon to show me a prompt that goes something like this:
“The album you are adding is already in your library. Would you like to add it as [Primary version] [Secondary version] [New album] [Don’t add]”
Next prompt:
“Would you like to transfer you favourites to the newly added album?
[Yes] [No] [Always] [Never]”
