I have posted several times requesting that the Roon App be updated but I never get a response that indicates I’ve been heard. I want the app to have the same capabilities as the computer version. I’m not aware of a single improvement to the app in the 7 years I’ve been a member. I no longer have access to a computer so it is a real handicap not to have the same editing capabilities of the computer version.
I am most particularly inconvenienced with album covers and combining multiple CDs. In the case of album covers I need access to my photo library.. if I need to change an album cover I can’t. I’m not aware of any other app that uses the method Roon insists upon which needs a computer to function, not a tablet.
I also can’t merge multiple CDs into one . That can’t be very difficult to program.
II had to ask ChatGPT to find where I could vote. That was interesting! It is located at the top of the thread on the left and it is not at all obvious. There are lots of replies to this thread but not many votes. I suspect it’s because it is so hard to find out where and how to vote. Please vote for this improvement!
the location is the same, top of the thread on the left, but indeed it was blue and had the text “vote” on it.
However, I think there is one advantage: In the past, IIRC the button was only at the top and invisible once you scrolled down. Now it is floating, so arguably that should help. If only the graphic were clearer.
No idea, but according to some recent posts by @Stephen he is going to start modernizing the foundations of the mobile apps soon-ish, so perhaps this will pave the way for some subsequent feature updates.
I’m just getting around to trying your suggestion and I’m really puzzled because I do not seem to have the option you show. Instead , when I choose Edit on my iPad I get this:
I had to call on ChatGPT again for help. First, I had to figure out how to select the albums to be merged… After that it took about 15 minutes of back and forth screen shots before we finally figured out that the three little dots had significance. That finally (!) led to the drop down menu with an option to Edit whereupon the Merge Album option finally showed up. Finally success!
Glad you made it. The process is nearly exactly the same on the tablet as it is on the PC version, though.
I thought you knew how to do this on the PC (as you said you wanted the tablet to have the same options as the PC), so I didn’t elaborate. For the sake of completeness:
Select two or more albums. (Both on PC and tablet, a long press on an album starts multi-selection; then you can add more albums to the selection. Small difference: on the PC there are also other, alternative ways for multi-selection)
Click/tap the (…) button at the very top → Edit. (Same on PC and tablet)
