Hello Roon! I’ve just signed up for a trial yesterday so I’m pretty new. I’ve solved a few big questions I’ve had on my own (default to my cover art and my genres, create radio stations) but I’m stuck on one big thing.
I’m coming from Plex and prior to that Apple Music / iTunes. One of my most used features is “smart playlists”. I most often use this to easily play a genre of music - like Vaporwave (great background WFH music).
With Roon on my desktop (Mac), it’s not terribly difficult to navigate to Genre > Electronic > Vaporwave > Shuffle. [ I just now discovered how to make this a top-level genre ]
To make this more accessible, I’ve added a Vaporwave tag to the sub-genre so I can just go to Tags > Vaporwave > Shuffle.
However, on Roon Arc I’m not seeing any way to play a genre of music or a tag. I can search for vaporwave, scroll down to select the genre, then ‘start radio’. (Is this different from shuffle?)
There is no menu for tags in Arc that I can see. Nor is there a menu for genre. There’s playlists but I’m stuck trying to get a genre of music into a playlist - dynamically so any new tracks of that genre appear in the playlist.
From what I can tell, the best work around for not having genre on Arc is to go to each album and add a Vaporwave tag to it. Then I can go to Library > Album > Tags > Vaporwave. Which, I mean - this is just Genre.
Questions:
(1) Why doesn’t Arc have Genre?
(2) Can the results of Focus be saved anywhere?
(3) Can I edit / add tags to multiple / hundreds of albums at a time?
