Malware infection? roonmedia.DLL blocked by Microsoft Attack Surface Reduction

Tonight, exactly as I instructed my Roonserver on Windows 11 to update to the latest hotfix, Microsoft Attack Surface Reduction blocks the roonmedia.DLL !

There is something going on, of cause could be a false positive, but I’m not the one that can judge that.

But, now Roon Support hopefully knows about it.

Regards,
Kenneth

Upload the file to VirusTotal where it will be scanned with 80 different scanners rather than one:

Yea, good idea Suedkiez, but I already uninstalled it and I’m moving my Roon server to another platform. It’s not for me to struggle with this, it could not run on a managed device - that’s ok, I’m taking a different path. I just thought others - including Roonlabs should know about this.

You can add file exclusions to Windows Defender for binaries that you believe are false positives. You don’t need to use a different platform.
