Many albums no longer accessible after update

I just did the update and suddenly a significant number of albums now have the same album cover on them and cannot be opened. I’ve tried to re-scan, re-identify and re-analyze in Roon. have tried changing the meta-data in iTunes. Have deleted these files from Roon and re-scanned into iTunes. Hasn’t worked. Songs can be played from the albums if accessed in Track view. But the album still cannot be opened to see the tracks.

Here’s a video showing the issue: https://youtu.be/G2sUlkmA_lI

I’d say about 1/6th of my collection is now inaccessible. I’m running Roon on a 2015 Mac Mini over El Capitan.

I moved this post with your previous one.

Looks like @support hasn’t reached out yet, so I just flagged them.

In the meantime, could you post a screenshot of your Settings > Storage tab?

Also, have you restarted your Roon core app?

Cheers, Greg

Yup, restarted that.

I don’t run iTunes but I did enable iTunes and tried rescanning tracks into iTunes. That didn’t work. It’s as if the albums are corrupted. The weird things is, in my playlists most of the songs from the albums in question will play. Some won’t. But the albums they come from cannot be opened.

Ok, thanks for that. We should wait to hear from support.

To flag them yourself in the future, type @support.

No need to do it now.

Cheers, Greg

Hey @jlo – thanks for the video - super easy to see the issue that way

I think we fixed an issue similar to your inaccessible album issue for our next release. It should go live really soon, can you let me know if it helps?

With regards to the split albums, I’m surprised to see that and even more surprised to see that resulting in albums that have import dates from a while back (I noticed September in the album you opened.)

Can you confirm that all the albums which were recently split have reasonable import dates, meaning they correspond to when you added them to Roon or first set up Roon, as opposed to mistakenly listing a recent date?

Can you confirm the folder structure for these albums as well? How are they stored on disk? One album per folder?

Sure. I’ll be on the lookout for another update.

The Beethoven albums I opened in the video were imported in September 2015. The foldering is by the composition so the 2nd Symphony is in its own folder and the 7th in its own., with a folder of the recording. I realize Roon’s automation reads albums according to folders, however for my classical collection I’ve been merging albums these albums. It appears they became unmerged during the update.

Looks like I’m able to open these albums now. Haven’t come across any that won’t open. Thanks!
