Next bunch of Marantz kit gets RR. Finally after a year my Model 40n is Roon Ready.
Finally got there
So it’s time to spin Dark Side of the Moon for you young man and get some of the gapless goodness
Congratulations. Hope marantz and denon will still be around in the next few years. I’m sure many people here are watching what’s happen with masimo .
I am sure they will, just under a new owner. Marantz is a prestigious brand to have. Massimo was never the right partner, although they have helped improve HEOS.
Couldn’t really imagine this hobby without Denon and Marantz around …
Yep…I’ve used both for many years…currently running the Marantz AV 8805 Pre-Pro and love how well it works with Roon…
Only niggle is it seems to clip the beginning of a track when powering up from hitting start. Not enough play delay to cope with the relays kicking in. It’s a good few seconds from power on to music and Roon has already started to play.
Must have been something odd with power on yesterday . Fine this morning. I think the reboot of the server after it was added was the key as I said earlier it did actually give some odd signal path until I rebooted. Perhaps the server had not downloaded the update for it to recognise it properly. Either way working as expected and sounding rather good.
Glad to have this Roon Ready. However, I am having trouble with playback stopping after three or four seconds. Anyone else have this and able to get it resolved or will I need to get a ticket in with support? Many thanks.
P. S. Many thanks to @peter_richardson for his RHEOS extension that I’ve been using to this point.
No mines been rock solid. Have you restarted your Roon server since updating HEOS? I found I needed to do this for Roon to properly register it all as it was using some odd settings before I rebooted.
I’ve done a number of restarts and have noticed some odd behavior in device setup. The icon for the 40n changed to the default speaker icon and is not back to the 40n. I’ll try a few more restarts and reboots and get a ticket in with support. Thank you for your help with this and all you do in the forum. Not a small number of your other posts have also been quite helpful.
Glad to hear the 40n is certified at last. I was concerned it may have gotten left behind.
The M1 and the DNP-2000NE both behave well in my set up but I still use RHEOS, as I usually group with older devices.
I have just posted an updated test image to docker that brings lots of new features. I’ll be putting together some info and updating the main RHEOS discussion with details. It now works nicely with ROON ready devices - but took a lot to get stable! Also manages gapless recordings nicely, along with meta data and album art in the HEOS app.
Needs some final testing before replacing the “latest” version in ROON extension manager.
Nice feature of the newly released HEOS app is “fixed groups” - wish this were available in ROON.
What about the Cinema 50? Is that even planned?
Would you be interested if I created a delayed start feature as incorporated into RHEOS as a standalone extension? Should be feasible …
No it’s fine it just needed a Roon restart and it starts now when it’s fully on and can take an input.
Hello Jeffrey, I have the same problem as you, did you solve it?
Solved, there was a conflict with RHEOS.
All is well if RHEOS stopped
Glad you got it working! @peter_richardson helped me with the same solution.
Thank you for posting it here.
