Good suggestion.
I don’t know why when the only difference is capitalization Roon considers it a different label. ![]()
How many albums are listed under the one all in lower case?
If only a few, select them all, edit the label name to suit and save.
This should fix the issue.
I tried this, but it didn’t seem to work. Maybe I’m not doing it correctly.![]()
It half works for me ![]()
Whilst Roon shows labels, and you can edit them within Roon is one thing. Getting it right is tricky.
I have (had) 3 albums under EMI Digital. I selected all 3 and edited them. Problem is you have two entries to make. Label add and label remove.
Here comes the curve ball. By selecting more than one album you will not see if an album is attributed to another label. So even if I put EMI into add and EMI Digital into remove and save (like I tested) it did this correctly for 1 out of 3 because the 1 only had EMI Digital attributed against it. The others had a second label and even though I added EMI to them in multi-select > edit mode, they chose their second attributed label and now show their under the primary label.
Like I say, Roon’s labels support is complicated because of this.
I’d honestly try a set Roon as the preferred source of labels over local metadata. It may help.
Thanks for the suggestion @MusicD , I know this workaround but we need a more sustainable and less labour intensive way to merge labels, the same way we can do it for artists and albums. Not sure why it has not been implemented yet. ![]()
