Today Ive been listening to the live radio stream from France Musique: La Baroque.
The Roon Metadata Service starts correctly but gets stuck and doesn’t update as the music changes. It can be 20 minutes or more out of sync with the program and then totally stops. Restarting the stream works but the same symptoms reoccur.
Anyone else seen this?
The “Metadata Service” was an addition to live radio by a user, @alec_eiffel , who no longer posts.
Roon hosts the service but does not maintain it, nor do they wish to do so.
I’m afraid the facility is now liable to slowly degrade as necessary updates do not occur.
Sad.
(I can turn it off on selected stations but is the current setup for this station better than nothing?)

It’s disappointing that Roon is unwilling to maintain the metadata service. I think leaving it as it is is better than turning it off. My workaround is to have the radio station web page open in a browser.
If you like jazz and without ads, FIP JAZZ from France is the best radio. And the great recent discovery: Roon radio shows the metadata (title of the song, musician, record) (not all but the big majority) of each title with a roon link directly to the record in Qobuz or TIDAL. Fantastic ! a dream come true. Fully recommend!
I haven’t seen the metadata problem reported by @eclectic but also find having the radio station web page open is useful anyway since it usually provides more information than the Roon metadata stream.
