microRendu Roon Ready mode converting DSD to PCM

I’m running microRendu with version 2.5 of OS and I’m running in RoonReady mode. Under Settings/RoonReady, I have have Native DSD selected under DSD Support.

My DAC is a HOLO Audio Spring DAC.

When I play a DSD track (DSD64) it converts to 352.8kHz PCM. In Roon, I have DSP Engine disabled and under Device Setup, I have everything under playback set to Disabled, except for Multichannel Mixing Strategy which is set to Downmix as Needed.

Is there a setting I need to change to get straight DSD playback?

Hi Gary,

I had the same thing happen to me once, I fiddled with the volume control settings on the microrendu and it seemed to fix it. Perhaps you could give that a try?

No I was never able to resolve this unfortunately.

I will play around with the volume control settings to see if that does the trick. Right now, however, I dont have a preamp in my chain, so I have to control the volume from Roon. Maybe that has something to do with the issue?

You might have an older firmware on that DAC. Post the output of Apps / DAC Diagnostics here.
