Sometimes the instructions don’t read as well as they work.

But if there are instances where things are not clear bring them up in a support thread so that those who follow can address the short comings for the next one in trouble

Let’s say i am about to go vor this:
Roon NUC → Raspberry Pi4 (as Roon Bridge) → USB DAC (Not Roon ready/tested). Will the Pi-Bridge ensure that RAAT works or do i nevertheless need a Roon ready/tested DAC instead of a “normal” DAC?

Thanks!!!

RAAT is a protocol that is used in the network, so you have two options:

  • use a RPi4 running Roon bridge connected via USB to your DAC
  • use a Roon Ready (not Roon Tested) network streamer. Because it is Roon Ready, this means the streamer supports RAAT directly, and will pass the audio to its internal DAC.

Roon Tested is a term applied to DACs connected via USB.

Ah, got it - thanks Geoff.
So i can use any DAC when my Rock-Server is connected to the RPi4 Roon Bridge.
Perfekt!
Thanks again.
