It’s unclear from your post if this is a one-off metadata issue, a delay displaying the correct track info, or something else.
Please share a screenshot and also co firm that the zone playing is also the zone shown on the display.
This is a much repeated problem, but irregular.
I suspect it happens more often then I am aware of … I don’t often look to see what is being played & , when I do, if I am not familiar with the material I may not realize it is a mismatch.
It clearly is related to how an established queue of tracks is handled.
I suspect it is related to how Sonos & Roon interact in the feeding of stream.
It is not merely a delay in changing the display. Roon clearly expects the displayed track to be playing.
I admit that I need to play the same album multiple times to see if there is any consistency and to focus on whether Roon is skipping ahead or if Sonos is skipping ahead and by how much.
I will send my notes on that.
A picture of the display will not help, since it is the relation to the actual audio that is the problem.
Thank you for your report. Our diagnostics indicate that you have multiple generations of Sonos firmware in your setup (Play, AMP, Connect).
Can you please confirm whether this issue affects just the Sonos AMP, as indicated in your original report, or the other Sonos endpoints as well? If possible, try playing to them individually and see if the playbar gets out of sync.
As said, I often go through entire albums with no problem, it is irregular - which obviously presents PD issue.
Certainly, if listening an any particular Sonos end point & I notice this problem, I will take note.
I am sure that it has happened several times with my Sonos Amp (drives Bedroom Speakers) and believe (but sure) that it has happened with my Sonos Connect:Amp (drives Bathroom Speakers).
Those are the places I most often do extended listing with entire Albums.
My first focus is to capture a re-occurrence on the Bedroom system to get a good behavioral description documented and to then immediately play that same album on the same system to see what consistency there is.
If it is consistent, then I will next do the same on the Bathroom system.
I have 7 Sonos end-points, so fully testing on all 7 system is a gargantuan effort.
I will take this one step at a time .
