A little background: I recently moved my Roon Server from a Windows 10 desktop to an UnRaid server. I felt that a fresh start would be best so had Roon do a complete rescan of my music library and therefore create a new database. I have a very large local library with just over 63K albums. After several days of scanning Roon is now finished and I’ve started the process of cleaning up this newly created database.
The first thing that I discovered is that for some reason Roon did not find the cover art for about 4,000 albums, which I know have a “cover.jpg” in the album folder and for which Roon had shown the cover art when running on the Window 10 desktop.
Using “focus” I am able to view all the albums without cover art (-Has Cover). I then selected all 4,000+ albums and had Roon rescan these albums. After completing the rescan Roon was able to find the cover art for about 100 or so albums, which means that there are still about 3,900 albums with cover art that Roon is still not finding. I also checked under “Settings → Library → Skipped files” and while there are a handful of skipped, aka corrupt, image files, there are nowhere near the 3,900 cover art files which are not showing up in Roon.
Now I know that can manually edit each of those 3,900 albums so that the cover art is added to Roon but that is very time intensive process and should not be necessary since Roon should have automatically found the cover art during the initial scan and the forced rescan.
Has anyone else experienced this issue? Does anyone know of less time consuming fix for this issue?
