Describe the issue

The "Edit" option is missing from the "..." context menu for Albums. This problem was previously intermittent, but now is for all albums including one the I was previously able to access the "Edit Album" from the resulting Edit panel.

Describe your network setup

Network is N/A; but ...
running Roon Server on a Nucleus One with monitored music folder on an installed internal Samsung SSD. I am using Roon controller app on a desktop Windows PC with a large attached Display monitor.

Is the album in your Roon library? I.e., do you see a (:heavy_plus_sign:) button or a (:purple_heart:) button next to the cover art?

Could this be the cause…?

Hey @Michael_Arones,

Thanks for writing in and sharing your report! I’d be curious to see if @Arlen’s comment above has any effect if you update your text size within Roon.

If you navigate to Roon Settings>Setup>Text size, are you able to see the ‘edit’ option after updating to ‘default’ text size?

We’ll be on standby for your reply! :+1:

I had previously noticed that post & was unable to understand what was meant by “font size Standard”.
Neither Windows 10 or Roon has a setting of “Standard” for font sizes.
In addition there were no changes to font settings between when I could and could not see the “Edit” item in the “…” context menu.
But I explored this anyway.
My font setting were all the defaults. I experimented with enlarging fonts in both Roon (did not fix this) and in Windows (prevented Roon from even launching).

Hey @Michael_Arones,

Thanks for the follow up!

Could you provide a response to @Suedkiez’s note above? Note that you’ll need to first add the content in question to your library before being able to access the edit button.

Please share a screenshot of an album you’re having issues with and we’ll review a fresh diagnostic report. Thank you! :+1:

All my albums are on the Nucleus One internal music drive which is being monitored.
I assumed that once Roon discovered the album that was added and displays it to be played that it was “in my Roon library”. Is there an other step I need to take in order to actually “add it too my Roon library”?

Here is an image of the album that I have been using to illustrate the problem.

Here also is an image of the menu without the “Edit” item in the “…” context menu.

No, that’s fine. I know you said you have an internal SSD, but I wanted to be make sure that affected albums didn’t happen to be streaming albums, because then you would have had to add them first.

And you cannot scroll down in the menu?

OK, I will admit that I am an idiot.
and Thank You. (problem solved - I needed to scroll down on the menu to find the hidden items))

It reminds me of the Far Side cartoon where all the scientists in their white coats are standing in a group trying to figure out why the massive 1960’s computer was not working; and, a janitor on the other side of the room is pointing to a power cable that is not plugged into the outlet & saying “hey guys!”.
Bottom line - me not so smart …

The Edit item had been show so many times before that I expected it to be shown without scrolling, and I did not recognize that it was scroll-able since it had plenty of space to give a larger menu & there was no scrolling bar on the left of the context menu.

Don’t feel too bad - the non-existence of a scrollbar in Roon’s scrollable windows has caught many of us out before now… GUI design 101 is not always followed…

Glad it helped, don’t feel bad  I’ve complained about missing scrollbars since Roon 1.8 for years. If the text in the window/menu happens to be justified in the middle, then there is no hint at all that something is hidden. And what’s worse, some views/windows have a scrollbar and some don’t, with no rhyme or reason I could find, and of course this makes it even less obvious.
