Roon does not show the “in my library” icon in my albums overview. Qobuz yes and all the other icons, but not |||/ in my library ……. It has never worked, but I kept updating in the hope it would start to work.
This is on purpose because every album that appears in My Albums is by definition in your library, meaning that every album would have the badge, which would be rather pointless.
It’s shown, e.g. in Discography because it contains both in-library and not-library albums.
My (wrong) interpretation was; Qobuz badge in My albums is in my library from Qobuz and the In Library badge in My Albums is in my library from my NAS, my own music.
Following “your” / Roon’s logic, then why show the In Library badge or Qobuz badge under Versions, if there is already written above, library version and Qobuz.
Same goes for: Select an album, scroll down, there is written My Library but there is also a “In my Library” badge shown!
Only showing the In library badge in discography, which is the case of course, in the current situation makes sense to me.
I opt for the following:
Rename the In library badge to Local / Local album / Local music etc. And show that badge in My Albums. Because now, the Qobuz and Tidal badges also function as In library badges.
Yep, I agree, the current badges are a bit inconsistent in their meaning. It probably stems from the time before Roon integrated streaming. Making it per-location badge (as you say, local/Qobuz/Tidal) probably makes sense, but not holding my breath either
Roon launched with Tidal integration. What didn’t exist was the whole discography section as that was added much later. Earlier versions of Roon did something else. When you went on the album page a right side vertical banner listed all the other albums you had by the same artist.
