A couple of days ago I woke up to find that only 72 of the 777 albums in my library were displayed. I rebooted the Nucleus, to no effect.
I do daily backups to (1) a USB drive connected directly to the Nucleus, and (2) my desktop computer via an ethernet connection. I restored the first, second, and third most recent backups from the USB drive, and in each case only 72 albums were displayed after the restoration. I restored the most recent backup from my desktop, and full library was finally available.
The files in the Roon backup directory on the USB drive had the same sizes and creation dates as those in the backup directory on the desktop.
What could explain this? Were the files on the USB drive somehow corrupted? Should I be concerned? Wait, I already am. I’d welcome any advice on how to prevent a recurrence of this almost-nightmare.
I have a Roon Nucleus (Rev. B, 2021) connected to a Netgear Nighthawk Tri-Band WiFi 7 Router and Netgear Nighthawk CM2000 modem with CAT6 ethernet cable, and to a McIntosh amplifer with USB A to B cable. The Nucleus is currently running Roon version 2.56 (build 1582), and the Roon app on my Lenovo tablet is version 2.56 (build 1576). I use TIDAL.

First, please navigate to Roon Settings → Storage, and share a screenshot. The most likely reason Roon doesn’t show the library is that the storage location is unavailable.
Likewise, please confirm if your library is local, TIDAL, or a mixture.
Yes, I can play TIDAL content from Roon. I don’t see a way to find the numerical count of albums in the Favorite Albums section, but it looks like they’re all there. (You said ‘in the TIDAL app’; I assume you meant in the TIDAL section of the Roon app.)
